Interviews and photos

Mary: “The most innovative part is to keep the tape from re-sticking. The prototype looks awesome.”

Paige: “Sleek aesthetic. Looks good.”

Christian: “Depending on how a person holds it, I would address the index finger grip.”

Elizabeth: When interviewing, we discussed securing the tape roll itself to prevent the roll from moving and the tape slipping out of the feed. Perhaps by some kind of clamp.

Dalton: Feedback was that the prototype was flimsy, that the security bar would be a
hassle.

Evan: Feedback on including a sensor to find end of tape. Putting a different type of grip on the end of dispenser. Color association was caution and safety.

Solace: “Grip placement makes sense. Good idea [the changes on prototype]- I spend hours trying to fix the roll, especially with packaging tape. The shape is good. I like bright colors. Would make it easier to find when things are crazy- like when you’re moving.”

Ross: “Help with sticking back- easier to restart the tape is better. Shape is nice- easier to handle. I like the color- vibrant. I could find it across the room. Definitely an improvement on the original- strong additions to the model.”

Chris: “Bar is a good idea as long as it [the tape] doesn’t get stuck. Maybe make the bar thinner? Less surface to stick to. The colors are bright, makes it easier to find though I am partial to neutrals in general.” He also agreed that with the original tape dispenser, that the tape roll re-sticking is very frustrating.
Lauren & Bethany---
Lauren: Cons of original model? “Hard to cut the tape. And restarting the roll/finding the tape end.” Felt the prototype was good but too large as she has small hands.
Bethany: “It’s colorful. I like the colors. When asked which would they purchase is cost was the same 3 girls responded: the prototype

Kristen & Maddie: “[tape dispenser prototype] It’s noticeable. Good idea to make things easier. Searching for the end of the tape roll pisses me off and I want to throw it across the room. I don’t like the yellow color though, I hate the color yellow [in general]. The size is kinda bulky. I have small hands. Shape is aerodynamic but smaller scale would be better.”

Abdullah & Ibrahim:
“Prototype lacking in the bar function though I understand the concept and I think it to be a good idea. Shape is good. Scale down the size and it would improve it. Take the back end off- it’s unnecessary. I associate the yellow color with my rival s
