From this article, I learned that “Ethnography is a tool for
better design.” Using ethnography helps makes the design process easier to
understand and to solve the problem. In reading this article, I notice it
mentions a lot about interacting with the audience and observing them in
reality. I can say that this really applies to the Wayfinding project because
with my group members and I engaging with the audience we learn some of the
problems that they face with navigating to places on KU campus and actually got
suggestions with from some of the KU students about how to make our wayfinding
better. From this article, I learned the importance of using the ethnography
process because my group members and I to define the problem ask the KU
students their experience in the navigating through experience and gather data
through videos and photos and try to make a solution. In conclusion, this
article really helps my team members and I get a great start our Wayfinding
project.
