The top design would work better with horizontal stripes. The blue on the bottom design grabs too much attention away from the hand. Maybe you could do more with the hand drawing something. What about a line or drawing that starts on the back and continues to the front & hand. The leading between the lines of the title needs to be smaller so that the reading flows easier. Try making the word 'of' all in lower case. I know it's an illusion, but that word seems bigger than the others.
